
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to a statement from Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Public Affairs at NECO, a total of 179,201 candidates sat for the examination, which covered 12 subjects. The exams were conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025.
The release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna.
Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. (Mrs.) Folake David, who also serves as Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct and evaluation processes leading to the release.
The meeting was attended by NECO officials as well as secondary school principals from across the country.
Additionally, the Award Committee has approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit. The re-sit exams for Mathematics and English Studies will take place on July 23 and 24, 2025.
