The Nigerian Army is set to induct 6,195 newly trained regular combatants to bolster its strength and operational capacity nationwide.

The new soldiers are part of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake, who began their training on January 13 at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria. After six months of intensive military preparation, they have successfully completed their training.

Originally, 6,450 recruits commenced the program, but 255 were unable to complete the course.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to preside over the passing-out parade, where the new recruits will be officially inducted into the army.

These fresh combatants are set to be deployed to various operational theatres across the country, where they will help address the ongoing security challenges. They are also scheduled to undergo specialized training to enhance their effectiveness in their assigned roles and areas of deployment.
