Mr. Titus Odo, Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, has officially defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alongside Prince Emeka Mamah, former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs and the State Coordinator of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.
The pair, who originally left the PDP during the 2023 general elections to join the LP, were received on Wednesday at the PDP State Secretariat by the party’s chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike.
Dr. Chukwunwike welcomed their return, describing it as a positive step ahead of the 2027 elections. He said their defection was part of Governor Peter Mbah’s wider directive to reconcile with and reintegrate aggrieved former party members.
“We are glad to have them back. With unity and determination, we’re already on the path to success in 2027,” Chukwunwike said.
Speaking at the event, Odo said he was happy to return to the PDP, citing Governor Mbah’s developmental strides as a major reason for his decision.
“I’m back home because of the governor’s achievements. Also, the defection of my former boss, Dr. Chijioke Edeoga, and the impressive work of Igboeze North Council Chairman, Uchenna Ogara, influenced my return,” Odo explained.
Prince Mamah also expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership at local, zonal, and state levels for welcoming him back, praising Governor Mbah’s performance and outreach to former members.
