Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has celebrated Remo Stars’ remarkable 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title triumph by donating N10 million to the club.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, personally called the team via video before announcing the generous gift—split evenly between the players and the technical crew, with N5 million going to each group.
Head coach Daniel Ogunmodede confirmed the donation in an interview with Punch Sports Extra.
Remo Stars made history on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes, securing their first-ever NPFL title. The win, sealed by an 84th-minute goal from Olamilekan Adedayo in Ikenne, took them to an unassailable 68 points—10 points clear of second-placed Rivers United with three matches remaining.
The victory marks a series of milestones: Remo Stars are the first privately-owned club to win the NPFL since Julius Berger in 2000 and the first team from Southwest Nigeria to lift the title in 25 years.
