APGA Refutes Ozigbo’s Allegation Of Soludo Funding APC Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has responded to comments made by All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Valentine Ozigbo, who accused Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, of sponsoring the APC candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, to weaken the party.

Ozigbo, who was the runner-up to Ukachukwu in the APC governorship primary held in April, made the claims during a television interview, alleging that Governor Soludo was funding Ukachukwu to destabilize the APC.

In a statement released on Sunday, APGA, through its National Coordinator of the Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, dismissed Ozigbo’s remarks as “laughable” and “desperate.” Obigwe suggested that Ozigbo was responsible for his own political misfortunes due to poor decisions and wrong moves.

The statement read: “We couldn’t stop laughing when we saw Valentine Ozigbo’s recent interview on Channels TV. In the interview, he falsely accused Governor Soludo of financing Ukachukwu to weaken the APC. The truth is, there is nothing to weaken in Anambra APC because the party barely exists in the state.

“During President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, the leadership of Anambra APC, led by Basil Ejidike, openly admitted to then Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that the party was nonexistent in Anambra. This was a direct admission made to the Vice President while President Buhari was in power.

“A party that doesn’t exist in Anambra cannot pose a threat to Governor Soludo. Therefore, there’s no reason for him to fund Ukachukwu, who has little to offer. Ozigbo should stop pretending and speak the truth.

“Governor Soludo has no connection with the APC candidate and is not funding him. The two are not on the same level, and they will never be.”
