The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has received full accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to launch eight new academic programmes, achieving a 100% accreditation status across all departments.
This was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the institution’s Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, Rabi’u Wada. He described the development as a significant milestone that underscores the Polytechnic’s academic excellence and institutional quality.
According to Wada, the NBTE’s approval was conveyed through a formal letter signed by the Director of Polytechnic Programmes, Fatima Umar. He noted that the newly accredited programmes are aligned with emerging national needs and global trends, significantly expanding the Polytechnic’s academic offerings.

While commending the Polytechnic for its commitment to quality education and innovation, the NBTE also identified specific areas requiring improvement—such as operational costs, infrastructure, and equipment—which the institution is already addressing in compliance with regulatory standards.
Reacting to the development, Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sani Usman, described the accreditation as a strong validation of the institution’s capacity to deliver high-quality technical and vocational education that aligns with Nigeria’s developmental objectives and global best practices.
He further emphasized that the new programmes reflect the Polytechnic’s forward-looking approach in areas such as digital technology, media innovation, economic growth, and urban development.
