The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the rescheduling of 379,997 candidates affected by issues in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The process began on Thursday morning, following an announcement by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing held in Abuja on Wednesday.
Prof. Oloyede acknowledged that the errors impacted a total of 206,610 candidates across 65 centres in Lagos, and 173,387 candidates in 92 centres within the Owerri zone, which includes five states in the South East.
“The affected candidates will begin receiving text messages with details of their rescheduled exams starting tomorrow,” Oloyede said. “I apologise and take full responsibility for the lapses.”
One of the affected candidates, according to a reprinted exam slip seen by our correspondent, has been rescheduled to sit for the exam on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 12 noon. The new centre is located in the Igando community of Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State.
