The Ministry of Interior has launched a new online platform designed to simplify the application process for citizenship and business-related services in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Saturday, May 17, Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani said the platform is part of ongoing digital reforms aimed at boosting transparency, speeding up service delivery, and improving efficiency.
According to Ajani, the new system will offer users quicker processing times and a more convenient experience. Members of the public and businesses can access the services through the Ministry’s website at interior.gov.ng or directly via candb.interior.gov.ng. For support, users can email: candb-support@interior.gov.ng.
The Ministry of Interior is committed to creating a more efficient, transparent, and secure system for citizenship services through digital transformation, Ajani said.
This initiative is one of several recent efforts by the ministry to modernize operations. In February, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the rollout of digital landing and exit forms for travelers, which must be completed before entering or leaving Nigeria.
The Minister also stressed the importance of integrating immigration systems with national and global security databases, such as Interpol, to ensure real-time background checks before approvals are granted.
