Kim Kardashian has officially graduated from law school, marking a major milestone in her six-year legal journey. The 44-year-old reality star and entrepreneur celebrated the achievement with a backyard commencement ceremony at her Beverly Hills home, surrounded by family, friends, and mentors.
Kardashian announced the news on Wednesday, May 21, sharing heartfelt messages and congratulations from loved ones—including a note from U.S. First Daughter Ivanka Trump. On Instagram, she posted several clips from the celebration, where her mentors praised her dedication and determination.
“You’ve all been on this journey with me,” she said while addressing her guests at the podium.
Kardashian first revealed her legal ambitions in 2019, inspired by her passion for justice reform. Rather than attending traditional law school—especially after initially failing the bar exam—she pursued California’s legal apprenticeship path, which allows aspiring lawyers to study under a practicing attorney.
Her mentor, attorney Jessica Jackson, shared a powerful tribute during the event:
“Six years ago, Kim walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice. No lectures, no shortcuts—just 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, for six years straight. That’s 5,184 hours of legal study.”
Jackson also noted the impressive balancing act Kardashian maintained throughout: raising four children, running her SKIMS brand, filming shows, and advocating in real courtrooms.
Kardashian passed the California First-Year Law Students’ Examination (known as the “baby bar”) in December 2021 after taking it four times. She still needs to pass the California Bar Exam to become a licensed attorney.
