Kim Kardashian Breaks Silence On Convictions In Paris Robbery Case

Nearly a decade after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in a luxury Paris residence, eight individuals have been found guilty in connection with the 2016 heist—but none will be returning to prison.

The robbery occurred during Paris Fashion Week and resulted in the loss of over $9 million worth of jewelry, including Kardashian’s $4 million engagement ring. She was bound, gagged, and locked in a bathroom while the thieves carried out the heist.

According to the Daily Mail, the group—dubbed the “Grandpa Robbers” by French media due to their advanced ages, with many in their 60s and 70s—received sentences ranging from 3 to 8 years. However, most of the sentences were suspended due to health and age-related concerns. One of the men is undergoing chemotherapy, another has Parkinson’s disease, and a third required court transcripts to be displayed on a screen due to severe hearing loss.

Out of the ten people tried, only two admitted guilt. Aomar Aït Khedache, 69, identified as the alleged mastermind, was sentenced to eight years. But because of time already served and his sentence being partially suspended, he will not spend additional time behind bars.

Kardashian did not attend the sentencing but has previously described the ordeal as “the most terrifying experience of my life.” In the years since, she has significantly increased her personal security and stopped posting real-time updates on social media.

“While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability,” she said.
