Abiodun, Daniel Praise Ex-AGF For Her Achievements And Service

Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Oluwatoyin Madein

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and Senator for Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Friday praised Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, the former Accountant General of the Federation, for her exceptional career and role as a beacon of inspiration for younger women. Their remarks were made during a homecoming and grand reception organized by the Iperu Development Association to honor her retirement.

Governor Abiodun expressed that he would never tire of celebrating Dr. Madein, whom he described as not only a proud indigene of Iperu Remo—his own hometown—but also as a symbol of hard work, excellence, and selfless service.

Abiodun highlighted that despite coming from humble beginnings, Dr. Madein defied the odds, achieving success through determination and hard work. He said, “Dr. Madein is a woman of virtue and an industrious daughter of Ogun State. She started her career with Ogun State before moving on to serve the Federal Government, where she became the first-ever female Accountant General of the Federation.”

The governor also noted that Dr. Madein had given back to her community through various initiatives, such as street lighting, erosion control, and women’s training centers. He emphasized that her story proves that success does not depend on wealth, but on perseverance, and that she has inspired many younger women to pursue greatness.

“She has shattered the glass ceiling and risen to the top of her career. Your journey proves that with God, nothing is impossible,” Abiodun said. He also added that while Dr. Madein has retired, her wealth of experience still makes her an asset to the country, and he urged her to continue contributing to national development.

Senator Daniel echoed Abiodun’s sentiments, calling Dr. Madein an “amazon” and a “woman of substance” who had served her country with honor. He congratulated her and encouraged her to continue serving humanity and working with others to help build a better Nigeria.

In her brief remarks, Dr. Madein thanked the community for organizing the reception and expressed that the warm reception had encouraged her to continue serving humanity and advancing the development of Iperu. She also expressed gratitude to former President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing her as the first female Accountant General of the Federation, and acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu during her tenure.

The Chairman of the Iperu Development Association, Otunba Taiwo Oyebanjo, also praised Dr. Madein for her humility and exemplary service, noting that there was no better way to honor her for her contributions to both the nation and her community.
