Popular Nigerian actress Dayo Amusa has refuted claims circulating online that she is HIV positive, slamming the rumor as baseless and malicious.
The allegation stemmed from a viral video posted by content creator Olaoluwa Segun, who listed Amusa among five Nigerian actors allegedly living with HIV.
Reacting via a video on her Instagram page, Amusa explained that the false claim was rooted in a 2019 social media post she made to educate the public about HIV awareness and the importance of getting tested.
“The video trending on all platforms is based on a 2019 post I made to enlighten people about HIV. I stated then that I was HIV negative, and I still am,” she clarified.
Expressing her anger, she condemned the video for misrepresenting her intent and misleading the public. “It’s shocking that someone would twist an educational post and falsely label me without any investigation,” she said.
Amusa also vowed to take legal action against the creator of the video, warning, “I am not going to let this slide. I will make you a scapegoat.”
The actress urged the public to disregard the false narrative and reaffirmed her commitment to using her platform to raise awareness and promote truth.
