Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, recently led children from various orphanage homes across the state on a special tour of key newly completed government projects, including the Solution Fun City, the new Governor’s Lodge, and the new Government House.
These projects, described as legacy achievements of the Soludo administration, were commissioned on May 8, 2025, by President Bola Tinubu during his official one-day visit to Anambra.
During the tour, Dr. Soludo personally guided the children through the facilities, engaging with them in playful activities and sharing uplifting stories. She emphasized that the experience was designed to give the children a sense of belonging and exposure to the same experiences as their peers in traditional family settings.
“They are Anambra children too,” she said, “and they deserve the same fun and leisure as every other child. This is not a one-time event—it’s something we intend to continue.”
Expressing joy over the children’s excitement, she promised to bring them back to enjoy the facilities once the Solution Fun City is fully operational. “My greatest happiness is seeing their joy,” she added. “All we are doing as a government is in the best interest of our children.”
Responding to public debates about the Fun City investment, Dr. Soludo noted that the project aligns with her husband’s vision of an Anambra where people can “live, work, and enjoy.” She stressed that such facilities, typically found in far-off locations, will now attract families, fun seekers, and tourists to Anambra, boosting the state’s economy.
“We want to make Anambra a destination, not just a departure lounge,” she said. “Now families can bring their children here instead of traveling abroad for leisure. This is a major plus for us.”
The event left a lasting impression on the children. Chinwendu Madueke, one of the participants, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady: “This has been the happiest day of my life. Her Excellency made me feel loved. I’ll always remember today—it felt like having a real mother around.”
Little Benita, a young girl from Awka, echoed the sentiment, saying she had so much fun and couldn’t wait to tell her classmates all about the experience when school resumes.
