The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to kick off its campaign for the upcoming August 30 local government elections in Rivers State.
The rally, which will feature the official presentation of party flags to candidates who emerged from last Saturday’s primaries, is expected to commence shortly.
According to PUNCH Online, the Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Rumuola, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, is currently buzzing with activity. Party leaders, supporters, and delegates have gathered, waving party flags and wearing branded materials in anticipation of the event.
APC State Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, arrived early with members of the state executive council and was greeted by enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
Among the candidates present at the venue as of 11 a.m. are Confidence Deko (Gokana LGA), Dr. Chidi Lloyd (Emuoha LGA), Allwell Ihunda (Port Harcourt City LGA), and Vincent Nemienoka (Ogu/Bolo LGA), among others.
