Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set for a sensational rematch in Las Vegas this September.
Mayweather, 48, will come out of retirement to face Pacquiao at the Sphere on Saturday, September 19 — 11 years after their first highly anticipated clash.
Pacquiao, 47, returned from retirement on July 19, 2025, to fight Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title, a bout that ended in a majority draw, allowing Barrios to retain his belt.
When the pair first met on May 2, 2015, Mayweather secured a unanimous decision victory in the fight billed as the “Fight of the Century.” Reflecting on the upcoming rematch, Mayweather said: “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”
Their 2015 showdown drew 4.6 million pay-per-view buys, setting a record, though many fans felt it fell short of expectations. Mayweather reportedly earned around $300 million from the fight, which remains the most lucrative boxing match in history, generating over $600 million in total revenue.
A former multi-weight world champion, Mayweather retired in 2017 undefeated in 50 professional bouts, though he has continued participating in exhibition matches, including an upcoming fight this spring against Mike Tyson.
Pacquiao, also a multiple-time world champion, spent four years away from boxing between 2021 and 2025 while pursuing an unsuccessful bid for the Philippine presidency. He returned to the ring last year, holding Barrios to a draw in Las Vegas.
