Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz had his home broken into while he was celebrating the club’s historic UEFA Champions League victory over the weekend.

The burglary occurred early Monday morning as fans and players flooded the streets of Paris in celebration. According to police reports, two minors broke into the 29-year-old’s residence while he was away, taking part in the team’s victory parade.

The suspects were caught after the home’s security alarm was triggered. Police responded swiftly and apprehended the two individuals at the scene. “We found the player’s home in total disorder,” a police source told Le Parisien. “The two minors had rummaged through every room before we caught them red-handed.”

The incident took place during a period of unrest in the French capital following PSG’s European triumph over Inter Milan in Munich. Despite the jubilant scenes, the night was marred by widespread violence and chaos across France. Authorities confirmed that a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Dax, southwest France, and over 420 people were arrested nationwide amid riots and looting.

The break-in at Ruiz’s home is one of several security concerns that have overshadowed PSG’s historic win.
