The High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for the brutal murder of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Delivering the judgment on Thursday, Justice Simon Aboki found Ajayi guilty of culpable homicide, ruling that the evidence clearly established that he killed and dismembered the victim.
Ajayi was convicted on a one-count charge of culpable homicide, in violation of Section 221 of the Penal Code applicable in Northern Nigeria, which prescribes the death penalty.
