Cristiano Ronaldo has been spotted back on the training pitch with Al-Nassr, even as uncertainty continues to surround his future involvement with the club amid reports of an ongoing strike.
The 41-year-old Portuguese superstar has reportedly refused to feature in recent matches, with his availability for the upcoming clash against Al-Ittihad still in doubt.
Ronaldo, who earns an estimated £488,000 per day, is believed to be frustrated with Al-Nassr’s recruitment strategy and feels the club’s Saudi backers are favouring rival teams in the transfer market.
However, the forward was seen taking part in a full training session under the supervision of head coach Jorge Jesus, raising hopes he could yet return to action after previously training away from the main squad.
Ronaldo also shared images of himself working out to his 671 million followers on social media, adding blue and yellow heart emojis — the club’s colours — in a post that sparked fresh speculation about his next move.
Despite this, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still expected to boycott a second consecutive game as he seeks firm assurances that meaningful changes will be made to the way Al-Nassr is run.
Sources say Ronaldo was particularly angered by the recent high-profile move of Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal, a development he views as another sign of unequal backing among the league’s top sides.
Ronaldo is also reportedly unhappy that Al-Hilal’s net transfer spend has been around £180 million higher than Al-Nassr’s since his arrival in the 2022-23 season.
Al-Nassr currently sit second in the Saudi Pro League table, just one point behind Al-Hilal and 12 points clear of their next opponents.
