Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year on Sunday, after helping the club secure its 13th French league title and reach the Champions League final. Dembélé leads the league with 21 goals and has scored 33 times in 46 games across all competitions, including eight in Europe.
He takes over the award from Kylian Mbappé, who won it five years in a row before leaving for Real Madrid last season.
PSG coach Luis Enrique was honored as Coach of the Year at the UNFP Awards, while Rennes’ Désiré Doué won Best Young Player. Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier was named Best Goalkeeper, edging out PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG are now chasing a treble, with the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31 and the French Cup final against Reims coming up a week earlier.
