The D’Tigers opened their campaign with a commanding 77–59 win over Madagascar, followed by an emphatic 87–66 victory over defending champions Tunisia. Their latest triumph over Cameroon sealed the top spot in the group and a direct ticket to the quarterfinals.
With their place in the last eight secured, Nigeria will enjoy two rest days while other teams, including Cameroon, compete in the play-offs for the remaining spots. The D’Tigers will return to action on Wednesday when the quarterfinals tip off.
