With the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship set to take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has unveiled the preliminary roster for D’Tigress as they gear up to defend their continental crown.
According to the team’s Media Coordinator, Akeem Busari, preparations are now officially underway. The squad will begin camp this July in Abuja, featuring a series of structured activities, including exhibition “homecoming” games designed to both honor the team’s past successes and serve as evaluation opportunities ahead of final squad selection.
“These games will celebrate our achievements while helping the coaching staff assess players as they finalize the team,” Busari stated.
The NBBF reaffirmed its commitment to assembling the best possible team to retain the title and continue Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s basketball.
