FBI discovers over one million more Epstein-related records during document review

United States authorities have revealed that more than one million additional documents potentially linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been uncovered, just days after thousands of related files were released to the public.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York informed the Department of Justice (DOJ) that the materials were identified during an ongoing review connected to the Epstein investigation.

In a statement, the DOJ said it has taken custody of the newly discovered records and begun the process of reviewing them for possible release.

“We have received these documents from SDNY and the FBI to review them for release, in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, existing statutes, and judicial orders,” the department said.

The DOJ added that teams of lawyers are working continuously to examine the documents and apply legally required redactions to protect victims’ identities. Due to the sheer volume of the material, officials warned that it could take several weeks before any additional records are made public.

The disclosures are being carried out under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed on November 18, 2025. The law requires the attorney general to release all Epstein-related documents held by the Department of Justice, subject to court orders and victim-protection laws.

The most recent release, made public on December 19, 2025, included photographs featuring a number of high-profile figures. Among them were former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Britain’s Prince Andrew, billionaire Richard Branson, and former CBS News anchor Walter Cronkite. Images also showed Donald Trump, Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger appearing alongside Epstein in various settings.

Authorities have repeatedly stressed that the photographs were released without context and do not, on their own, indicate criminal wrongdoing by the individuals shown. Clinton and Prince Andrew have both denied any involvement in Epstein’s crimes, and neither has been accused by Epstein’s victims.

Officials say further updates will be provided as the review of the newly uncovered documents continues.
