The chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Christopher Maikalangu, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Paul Moses, polled an equal number of votes at the Supreme Court Staff Quarters polling unit in Karu, Abuja, during the Federal Capital Territory election, amid low voter turnout.
At about 3:30 p.m., the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presiding Officer, Martins Sani, announced the results for Polling Unit 072 at the Karu Supreme Court Quarters in the presence of party agents. He stated that Maikalangu of the APC secured 12 votes, while Moses of the ADC also received 12 votes.
According to Sani, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate garnered 4 votes, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate received 2 votes, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidates recorded one vote each.
He confirmed that there were no void votes, noting that only 32 out of 749 registered voters participated in the election, leaving 717 voters who did not cast their ballots.
Following the announcement, party agents signed the result sheets, and the figures were uploaded to the INEC Results Viewing Portal. Sani also disclosed that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) functioned smoothly without any technical issues.
