Popular Anambra entrepreneur, Ifesinachi Onyekere—widely known on social media as “Fish Magnet”—has been confirmed dead, days after he was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.
The incident occurred on Saturday night in Okpuno, near Awka, the Anambra State capital. Eyewitnesses reported that armed men stormed Onyekere’s residence in Ezinifite Village around 10:30 p.m., arriving in an ash-coloured Lexus SUV. The attackers shot him in the leg and abducted him using his navy blue Toyota Corolla.
Sources indicate the gunmen escaped through bush paths toward Nawfia, successfully evading security operatives.
Onyekere was a prominent aquaculture entrepreneur and Managing Director of Fish Magnet, a well-known fish farming brand. He was also the son of the Anambra State Women Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
