Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has shrugged off concerns about his recent goal drought, insisting that he remained unfazed despite several months without scoring.
Palmer found the back of the net in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Liverpool, sealing the champions’ third league defeat of the season with a stoppage-time penalty. The goal was his first since January.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Palmer downplayed the impact of his goal dry spell, saying it hadn’t affected him emotionally. “No goals for months? I just felt normal. Obviously, stuff happens, you know what I mean,” he explained.
As a key player in Chelsea’s attacking setup, Palmer noted that the experience had only fueled his desire to improve. “It gives me more fight and motivation to do more for myself and for the team,” he said.
When asked about the criticism he’s received on social media, Palmer dismissed the negative comments, stating, “Social media nowadays is full of idiots, trolls… I don’t care about that.”
