Nigerian gospel singer Pita recently paused his church ministration after spotting a man attempting to steal his phone.
While singing “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,” Pita noticed the suspected thief and quickly alerted church leaders, shouting “Stop!” to ensure the man was apprehended.
The incident, captured on video, has sparked reactions online. Some Nigerians joked that Pita was truly living out the Bible’s call to “watch and pray,” while others humorously suggested the suspect just wanted a phone to “call upon the Lord.”
