Two of Hollywood’s most iconic comedy families are now officially united. Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of actor Martin Lawrence, and Eric Murphy, son of comedy legend Eddie Murphy, recently tied the knot in a private, low-key wedding ceremony.
Eddie Murphy confirmed the marriage during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing that the couple wed nearly two weeks ago. Despite expectations of a lavish, star-studded event, the pair opted for a quiet church ceremony attended only by the bride, the groom, a preacher, and close family.
Murphy explained that while both families had initially been preparing for a grand celebration, Jasmin and Eric ultimately chose to prioritize intimacy over extravagance. He joked that his longtime friend Martin Lawrence was probably relieved, as their lighthearted debate over who would foot the wedding bill became irrelevant.
Jasmin, whose mother is former beauty queen Patricia Southall, and Eric, son of Eddie Murphy and Paulette McNeely, had announced their engagement just before Thanksgiving last year after three years of dating.
