The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked reports claiming it has scheduled May 27, 2025, for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), including services like voter card transfers and replacements.
In a statement posted on Sunday via X by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Commission urged the public to disregard an anonymous message currently circulating online.
INEC clarified that no official date has been announced for the resumption of the CVR and related services. It emphasized that any such announcement will be made through its verified social media handles and official communication channels.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that it has not yet announced any date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration, transfer, and replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards,” the statement said.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to transparency and assured the public that updates will be provided in due course through proper channels.
