The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC) to assist candidates facing urgent issues, particularly those affected by technical challenges in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, JAMB said the CCESC will operate alongside its existing ticketing platform, which remains the primary and most efficient channel for communication.
“In addition to our usual and preferred ticketing platform for candidate support, JAMB has now opened a Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC),” the statement read.
Candidates with urgent and genuine concerns can reach out to any of the designated officials—Gbenga, Yusuf, Dubem, Tony, Ogbonna, or Emma—via the helpline: 0700 220 0016.
Despite the launch of the support centre, JAMB emphasized that its ticketing platform remains the best method for resolving complaints, as it ensures faster responses.
This move comes as more than 300,000 candidates have been directed to retake the UTME due to technical glitches that led to distorted scores at some CBT centres. The rescheduled exams began on Friday.
Some students have expressed concerns over possible timetable clashes with WAEC exams, noting that WAEC has yet to announce any adjustments in response to the UTME rescheduling.
