The father of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, has passed away. The news was shared by Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Odonwodo, in a heartfelt Instagram post.
In her tribute, Jennifer reflected on cherished memories with her father-in-law, expressing gratitude for the time they spent together. She revealed that she had visited him in Enugu just a month before his passing and was moved by his genuine care and affection.
Describing him as an octogenarian who lived a meaningful life, Jennifer praised his dedication and sacrifices for his family, noting that he was blessed to witness the rewards of his efforts during his lifetime.
The emotional tribute captured her grief over losing both her husband and his father within such a short time. Despite the pain, she found solace in her faith and the Christian hope of resurrection.
She wrote:
“Barely one month ago, I was with you in Enugu… Some days later, Reme (my mother-in-law) called to ask how I and her boys were doing and then said her husband had gone to meet my husband. I screamed but had to pull myself together as she started crying.
Ozor Luke Odonwodo is one man that genuinely loved me… I’m thankful I got to spend time with him, unknowingly in his final days.
He lived a good life, paid his dues, sacrificed for his family, and reaped the fruits of his labor.
Reme, this is a lot within one year, but I pray God strengthens you and all of us.
Adieu father and son. You are sorely missed, but we hold onto the resurrection promise in John 5:28–29 and Acts 24:15.”
The post has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy and prayers from fans and colleagues, as the family navigates another profound loss.
