Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday for a second arraignment over alleged defamation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was accompanied to court by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, prominent human rights activist Aisha Yesufu, and a crowd of supporters.
The case is scheduled to be heard before Justice Mohammed Umar.
This marks the lawmaker’s second arraignment on similar charges. She was first arraigned on June 19, 2025, before the Federal Capital Territory High Court. At that hearing, the judge rejected a request from the Federal Government to issue a bench warrant against her for failing to appear in court.
