Lamine Yamal: I’ll Win The Champions League For Barça

Lamine Yamal 2

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has pledged that he and his teammates will keep fighting until they bring the UEFA Champions League trophy back to the Camp Nou.

Yamal’s vow came in the wake of Barcelona’s heartbreaking Champions League exit on Tuesday, following a dramatic semi-final clash with Inter Milan. The match ended 3-3 after goals from Lautaro Martínez, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Eric García, Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and Francesco Acerbi. In extra time, a goal from Davide Frattesi sealed a 7-4 aggregate win for Inter, sending the Italian side to the final.

Inter Milan will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal in the final later this month.

In his post-match comments, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Yamal remained defiant:
We gave it our all — this year it wasn’t to be, but we’ll be back. Have no doubt.
Culers, we won’t stop until we return this club to where it belongs: at the very top. I promise to bring the trophy to Barcelona. We won’t stop until we do.

He added a rallying call for unity ahead of their next domestic fixture:
“Sunday is another final, and we all need to be together. Visca el Barça!”
