Liverpool’s £110m Wirtz Bid Snubbed By Leverkusen

                Liverpool

Liverpool’s club-record offer of £110 million (€130 million) for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz has reportedly been turned down, according to German outlet Bild.

Wirtz, 22, has emerged as Liverpool’s top transfer target this summer as new manager Arne Slot looks to strengthen the squad following a sensational Premier League title win in his debut season.

In recent weeks, the German international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, especially after turning down interest from Bayern Munich. Reports suggest Wirtz has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, signaling his intent to join the Merseyside club.

Liverpool underlined their ambition by submitting a formal €130 million (£110 million) offer. However, Leverkusen have rejected the bid, holding out for a fee closer to €150 million (£127 million) for their prized playmaker.

Despite the setback, negotiations remain active. The report claims the gap between the two clubs could potentially be bridged through performance-related add-ons. Leverkusen reportedly still expect Wirtz to leave this summer, and the deal is not considered to be off track.

Additionally, Liverpool may consider including a player in the deal to help facilitate the transfer. Jarrell Quansah and Harvey Elliott have been named as possible makeweights to sweeten the offer.

Wirtz played a key role in Leverkusen’s remarkable unbeaten Bundesliga title-winning campaign and is considered one of the most promising young talents in Europe.
