A man identified as Ogbonna, popularly known as “Mourinho,” has been arrested for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu, at his residence in the Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to Vanguard, Chisom, who hailed from Amufie community in Igbo-Eze North LGA, visited Ogbonna at his home on New Anglican Road, Nsukka, to inform him about her upcoming marriage.
During the visit, Ogbonna reportedly became violent and assaulted her. By the time help arrived, Chisom was found unconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Ogbonna, a native of Igogoro community—also in Igbo-Eze North LGA—has since been taken into police custody for interrogation as investigations continue.
