May Day: PDP Governors Applaud Workers’ Resilience And Role In Nation Building

Governors elected under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have praised Nigerian workers for their unwavering commitment to national development, despite enduring difficult economic conditions.

In a statement released Thursday to mark May Day 2025 (Workers’ Day), the PDP Governors’ Forum, through its Director General, Emmanuel Agbo, commended the dedication and resilience of workers across the country. The Forum is chaired by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

“Your unwavering dedication, resilience, and sacrifices in the face of challenges remain the driving force behind Nigeria’s development,” the statement said. “Despite these obstacles, your commitment to building a better Nigeria is nothing short of heroic.”

The Forum acknowledged the daily struggles of workers in navigating an increasingly harsh socio-economic climate, praising their strength as a reflection of the Nigerian spirit.

It also reaffirmed the commitment of PDP-governed states to workers’ welfare, noting the implementation of minimum wage agreements and other benefits.

“As we celebrate your achievements, we must also reflect on the need for continued unity and resilience,” the statement added. “Though the national government may appear distant from the realities workers face, we urge you to keep hope alive and continue peaceful advocacy for the change we all deserve.”
