Inter Milan striker and Iran international, Mehdi Taremi, is currently unable to join his teammates for the FIFA Club World Cup due to flight restrictions in Iran caused by escalating tensions with Israel.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Taremi remains stuck in Tehran as all flights from Iranian airports have been grounded following recent airstrikes exchanged between Iran and Israel.
While Inter Milan’s squad has already arrived in Los Angeles ahead of the tournament, Taremi won’t be able to leave Iran until the flight ban is lifted.
The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off on Saturday night, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami facing Egypt’s Al Ahly at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida at 01:00 BST (20:00 local time).
