Missing Lagos Banker Discovered Dead With Machete Injuries In Yaba Morgue

            Missing Lagos banker

The body of 26-year-old Osemudiamen Idemudia, a banker in Lagos who was declared missing earlier this month, has been discovered in a morgue in the Yaba area of Lagos State. Idemudia, who worked at a commercial bank in the Ikota area, was last seen on the evening of May 9 around the CMS area on Lagos Island.

According to a family member identified as Segun, the body was found on Sunday, May 18, after the family searched multiple hospitals and mortuaries across the state.

“We have found Osemudiamen’s body. He was murdered. We found him in a Yaba morgue with machete cuts on his head, face, and legs,” Segun said, expressing deep grief.

Segun explained that the nature of the injuries strongly suggests a violent attack. He also revealed that staff at the morgue claimed the body was brought in by police officers, but were unable to say where it was recovered from.

“The morgue attendants said the police deposited the body but couldn’t provide further details about the officers or the location from which the body was brought. That made the discovery even more complicated,” Segun added.

Idemudia was laid to rest by his family on Tuesday, May 20.
