Chargers offensive lineman Ben Cleveland has agreed to pay his estranged wife more than $500,000 to settle their divorce.
Court documents show that Cleveland and his ex-wife, Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland, filed a settlement agreement in Georgia in late January as they sought to finalize their split, according to The California Post. Under the terms, Ben will provide Kaitlyn with a lump-sum payment of $550,000, part of which will be applied toward a 2024 Land Rover he agreed to transfer to her.
The payment is reportedly in exchange for Kaitlyn giving up her rights to certain real estate owned by the couple. Additionally, Ben relinquished claims to a golf cart, rugs and pillows, bedroom furniture, and kitchenware. Kaitlyn, in turn, agreed to return Ben’s gun and thermal scope, while allowing him to retain two Georgia properties.
Both parties will cover their own attorney fees, and the agreement includes a clause barring them from making disparaging remarks about each other or posting about one another on social media.
A judge has not yet approved the settlement, though Ben filed a motion last week to expedite the court’s review.
Ben initiated divorce proceedings in February 2025, shortly after a DUI arrest, citing adultery as the reason for the split—a claim Kaitlyn denied. The couple married on July 21, 2022, and separated on December 29, 2024. Neither has publicly commented on the divorce. Kaitlyn’s attorney, J. Chase Wilson, stated, “We are prohibited by the terms of the settlement agreement from making any public comment.”
Cleveland, who began his NFL career five years ago after being drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Georgia, resolved his DUI case through a plea deal in late 2025.
