
A Nigerian man has been charged with murder following the death of a 23-year-old woman, Stephanie Irons, in Nottinghamshire, UK.
Adedapo Adegbola, 40, of Woodborough Road in Mapperley, has been charged with one count of murder after Stephanie’s body was discovered on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Police were called to an address on Westdale Lane West in Mapperley at 10.07pm on Tuesday after concerns were raised for a woman’s safety.
Stephanie – known to her friends and family as Steph – was found dead by emergency services and a murder investigation was launched.
Adegbola appeared in court in relation to the matter for the first time on Saturday, October 25.
The 40-year-old only spoke to confirm his name and address during the brief appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Adegbola – in court with a large bandage up his left arm and wearing a grey T-shirt, grey jogging bottoms and black shoes – was told he would be appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, October 27 and he was remanded in custody until that appearance.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday, October 23 on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released with strict bail conditions.
