No Plans To Leave APC – Zulum Refutes Viral Defection Report

Governor of Borno State has denied widespread rumours claiming he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The speculation, which circulated on social media, alleged that Zulum and five other APC governors were on the verge of leaving the ruling party. In a statement released on Sunday, July 6, Zulum firmly rejected the claim, calling it baseless and politically motivated.

“This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors,” the statement read. “These are political detractors who have made no meaningful contribution to the progress of Borno State or Nigeria. It’s a typical case of cheap, politically driven misinformation meant to distract and create unnecessary tension.”

Governor Zulum reiterated his commitment to the APC and emphasized that his priority remains the continued development and reconstruction of Borno State.

“I urge the good people of Borno and the general public to disregard this fabrication. We are focused on rebuilding our state, not engaging in petty politics,” he stated.
