Novak Djokovic Joins Le Mans FC As Co-Owner

Novak Djokovic becomes co-owner of Ligue 2 Club Le Mans FC

Tennis icon Novak Djokovic has officially joined the ownership group of Le Mans FC, the French football club newly promoted to Ligue 2. The club announced the development on Friday, revealing that Djokovic is part of a high-profile consortium of investors that includes former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen.

The strategic investment is led by OutField, an international group co-founded by Brazilian entrepreneur Pedro Oliveira. Other notable figures in the consortium include Georgios Frangulis, CEO of global health-food brand OakBerry.

In its announcement, Le Mans FC hailed Djokovic as “the most successful player in history,” praising his mental toughness, competitive spirit, and relentless pursuit of excellence—all qualities the club believes will enrich its culture and long-term vision.

The club also highlighted the involvement of Massa and Magnussen—veterans of 15 and 10 Formula 1 seasons respectively—noting that their presence helps fuse the worlds of football and motorsport, a connection Le Mans sees as a “distinctive strength” of its brand identity.

This marks Djokovic’s latest venture beyond the tennis court as he broadens his footprint in global sports and business.

Le Mans FC, which has experienced both highs and setbacks in French football, is set to begin its 2024–25 Ligue 2 campaign on August 9 with an away match against Guingamp.
