Ola Aina Set for Long-Term Stay at Nottingham Forest After Impressive Season

Super Eagles star Ola Aina is on the brink of committing his future to Nottingham Forest, with a new long-term contract reportedly close to being finalised.

The 28-year-old defender, who joined Forest in 2023 from Italian side Torino, had already secured his place at the club for another season after the Premier League outfit triggered a one-year extension clause in his existing deal. However, the club is now keen to extend Aina’s stay well beyond that.

According to The Telegraph, talks between Forest and Aina’s representatives have been progressing smoothly, with the new deal seen as a mere formality at this stage.

Since arriving at the City Ground, Aina has cemented his role as a vital player under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. His defensive versatility and wealth of experience have made him a reliable option on both flanks.

In the 2024/25 Premier League season, Aina made 35 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist — a performance that further underlined his value to the team.

The impending new contract signals Forest’s intent to build on their current momentum and maintain stability within their squad, with Aina expected to play a key role in the club’s plans moving forward.
