The Osun State House of Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke and formally endorsed him for a second term in office.
Governor Adeleke, who is set to complete his first term in November 2026, received the endorsement during a plenary session attended by 25 lawmakers from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, the lawmakers expressed satisfaction with the governor’s leadership and developmental strides, citing significant achievements under his administration’s five-point agenda.
Speaker Adewale Egbedun praised Adeleke’s commitment to the state’s progress and commended him on the occasion of his 65th birthday, noting that the people of Osun have felt the positive impact of his governance.
Hon. Simeone Popoola, representing Boripe/Boluwaduro Constituency, described Adeleke as “genuine and loving,” traits he said have contributed to his effectiveness as governor.
The vote of confidence motion was moved by Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Obokun Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Taofiq Olayiwola (Ede South Constituency). The motion was met with a resounding “Aye” from the chamber, sealing the Assembly’s backing for Governor Adeleke’s continued leadership.
