Otti Slams Abure Over Suspension Claim: “A Clown Desperately Seeking A Crown

             Abia State Governor, Alex Otti

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has dismissed his reported suspension from the Labour Party by Julius Abure as a “desperate act by a clown seeking a crown.”

In a statement released Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti emphasized that the Supreme Court had ruled that Abure is no longer the party’s national chairman.

He urged the Inspector General of Police to arrest Abure for impersonation and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enforce the Supreme Court’s judgment, in order to uphold the rule of law and protect democratic institutions.

The attention of Governor Alex Otti has been drawn to the false announcement of his suspension, along with other respected party leaders, by the former chairman Julius Abure,” the statement read. “This laughable move by Abure and his associates is nothing more than a failed attempt to distract from the allegations he faces, including financial misconduct and anti-party activities.

The statement also referenced the recent formation of the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee, which replaced Abure following the court’s decision, asserting that Abure no longer holds any legitimate authority within the party.

Just hours after being summoned by the caretaker committee to respond to serious allegations, Abure rushed to announce the supposed suspensions, Otti’s media aide noted.

We urge Nigerians to disregard this baseless declaration and see Abure’s actions for what they are—a theatrical bid for relevance by those who have lost all moral and legal standing,” the statement concluded.
