Paris’ relationship with her mother has been anything but conventional. She and her brothers, Prince Jackson, 29, and Bigi Jackson, 24, were largely raised by their father until his death in 2009 at the age of 50. After Michael Jackson and Rowe divorced in 1999, Rowe relinquished custody of the children, and she was absent from much of Paris’ early life.
In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Paris candidly revealed that as a child, her biological mother “didn’t exist” in her world. It was only later, as she began questioning her identity and roots, that she sought clarity about her origins.
