
Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Ominini, have been conferred with chieftaincy titles by the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi.
At a ceremony held on Sunday as part of the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary celebrations, Governor Makinde was honoured with the title Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, while his wife received the title Yeye Aare Omoluabi.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Makinde expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition.
He wrote: My wife, Ominini, and I were honoured with the chieftaincy titles of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, conferred on us by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi CFR, the Deji of Akure Kingdom.
We deeply appreciate this honour bestowed upon us as part of Kabiyesi’s 10th anniversary on the throne. We pledge to continue contributing to the progress and development of Akure Kingdom.
May Kabiyesi’s reign be long, peaceful, and prosperous.
The titles were conferred in recognition of the couple’s commitment to public service and regional development.
