President Tinubu Appoints New Controller-General of Federal Fire Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), following the retirement of the current CG, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who will bow out of service on August 13 upon reaching the age of 60.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril.

Jubril noted that Olumode brings significant experience to the role, having risen through the ranks from the FCT Fire Service to become Deputy Controller-General (DCG) at the FFS Headquarters, where he oversaw the Human Resource Directorate.

He further stated that Olumode successfully completed all required in-service and command training courses, both locally and internationally. The new CG is also a member or fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management.
