Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Resigns From Tinubu Administration

Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, has resigned from his position.

In a one-page resignation letter dated June 8 and submitted through the President’s Chief of Staff, Audu announced that his resignation takes effect immediately.

“I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately. I thank the President for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” the letter read.

Audu also expressed gratitude to former presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, who recommended him for the role in August 2023.

“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” he added, concluding the letter with well wishes:
“Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation.”

As of the time of this report, the Presidency has not issued an official response to Audu’s resignation.
