
MAKURDI – A former caucus chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, has applauded the State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for doing away with high-handedness and anti-people policies of previous administrations.
The former APC caucus chairman who made this known in a statement made available to Daily Independent in Makurdi on Thursday, also hailed Governor Sani, for his leadership style, which he described as “transformative leadership rooted in compassion, reform, as well as inclusive governance.”
Ramalan who is also the Executive Chairman, Liberty Radio and Television Group, and doubles as the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMOA), noted that in the last two years, the governor has also done away with the fear-driven governance and replaced it with a people-first approach.
The APC stalwart who stated that “Kaduna is rising again—not through fear and force—but through dialogue, empathy, and deliberate development”, appealed to the people of the state to support Governor Sani to succeed in his bid to transform the state.
Furthermore, Ramalan, hailed Governor Sani’s administration for successfully restoring peace and stability, especially in previously bandit-stricken rural communities, adding that the governor’s collaborative security model – featuring federal forces, local vigilantes, and traditional rulers has enhanced intelligence sharing and helped reclaim lost territories.
He emphasized that this kind of approach leads to healing, inclusion, and deliberate development, thus, “undoing the ugly past, and building a people-first future”, which sums up the achievements of the governor’s his administration.
Praising the governor for his political maturity, Ramalan, pointed out that Governor Sani was transforming Kaduna into a model of ethnic and religious harmony, a model which he said defines his administration as a government that places emphasis on “dialogue, not division.”
He observed that in view of this, governor Sani, has had notable achievements that include, but not restricted to the area of Education, such as the renovation of public schools and improved teacher welfare; agriculture, healthcare, Youth empowerment, Good governance.
Despite these gains, Ramalan acknowledged the strain of nationwide economic hardship, amplified by inflation and subsidy cuts, even as he joined Governor Sani in appealing to the Federal Government to implement urgent relief measures such as: subsidized food and medicine; Expanded social safety-nets; Targeted employment programmes and Currency and inflation control policies.
Additional, the former APC leader called on the federal authorities to adopt Gov. Sani’s ‘peace-first’, people-focused governance model for broader national healing, as Kaduna state celebrates a milestone.
