Rivers State Secretary To Government Resigns From PDP

The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His resignation, dated January 5, 2026, was addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, and submitted through the party’s ward office at Bob-Manuel’s Compound in Abonnema, the council headquarters in Rivers State.

In the letter, Anabraba described his decision to leave the party as “personal” and expressed gratitude for the “political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership.”

Titled “Resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party,” the statement read:

Please be informed that I have resigned my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party. The decision to leave the party is personal. I appreciate the political leverage gained from the party during my period of membership and wish the party well in the future.
